Too Many Places To Shop

There's no doubt about it, we have too many places to
shop, too many places to spend money, not enough ways
to make money.
Are you like me? There's too much month left at the end of my money, too many things I'd like to buy but don't have yet (as opposed to needs, which are not always fulfilled), all of which require more money than I have now.
Why are there more and more stores being built? Do people have so much money that retailers need more stores to accommodate the sales? Some retailers, particularly those that sell clothing, are closing stores and not opening new ones. After all, how many shirts do you need that say Abercrombie & Fitch?
We have one of the world's largest shopping malls less than two miles away. Guess what? They're adding stores. There are hundreds already, anchored by a Macy's on one end, a Sears on the other, and a glitzy over priced needless markup Neiman Marcus in the middle.
In between are hundreds of stores, dozens of places to eat, and never a parking spot when I need one. So why does the mall need yet another anchor tenant? Because there's no such thing as too many places to shop when you're the shopper. Nearing completion is a huge Nordstrom's store, more shops, more restaurants, and, thankfully, more parking.
This huge mega shopping mall is just a block from one of the largest Wal-Mart and Sam's Club complexes in the country, which features, among other things, the slowest parking garage in the country-- slow to get into, slow to get out of.
It's true. There are too many places to shop. And not enough time.
