St. Louis has a good reputation for bar-b-q ribs. St. Louis style. For some reason we were attracted to a place in upstate New York that specialized in St. Louis style ribs.
This is the first Dinosaur BBQ to open in history.
Built in the early 1920’s, 246 W. Willow St. was the home to various barrooms, including the N&H Tavern, for more than 50 years. Dinosaur Bar-B-Que opened its Syracuse restaurant doors in 1988, selling only BBQ before opening the full bar in 1991.
1988?
That’s not much of a history in bar-b-q. At least, not much by St. Louis bar-b-q standards. We went to a Japanese noodle shop in London, England once. Once. The first and last time were the same time.
The Syracuse bar-b-q wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t up to standard St. Louis bar-b-q standards.
