Have you ever heard of the Pareto Principle?
The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity) states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
I once had a client who used a spreadsheet to determine that he didn’t need 80-percent of his customers because most of his revenue and profits came from only 20-percent of the customers.
1-percenter works much the same way. No, not Hell’s Angels. Different 1-percenters. I’m talking about 1-percent of people that own perhaps 80-percent of the world’s wealth.
Here’s another one from Sarah Perez:
The top 1% of publishers globally accounted for a whopping 80% of the total 29.6 billion app downloads in the third quarter of 2019. That means just 20%, or 6 billion, downloads are left for the rest of the publishers.
80/20 or 1-percenters, it’s still the Golden Rule. Them with the gold get to rule.
